Volunteer Profile: Linda JusteCurrently attending Alliance Theological Seminary and pursuing her Master’s of Divinity Degree in Theological Studies, she is also involved in the Ministry for Sexually abused in her church. Project at the Alliance: Linda has been a tremendous help in conducting
outreach about the Alliance’s online survivor survey. Linda has personally reached out to more than
100 places, many of them faith-based organizations and churches and has spoken
to them about the survey and has sent them materials about the Alliance’s
projects. Linda has also conducted
preliminary research to help the Alliance conceptualize the Sexual Assault
Prevention Taskforce and was instrumental in helping the Alliance at our recent
Open House event. Linda continues to
provide wonderful help with outreach and also participates in the Alliance’s
monthly Sexual Assault Awareness Month Planning Committee. What did you want to volunteer at the Alliance? “I am involved in the Ministry for the sexually abused in my church (support groups and social change), and am interested in more awareness for sexual abuse prevention. I wanted to gain experience by interning at the Alliance.” What did you gain from your experience interning at the
Alliance? “I am still interning at
the Alliance and I feel that I am learning a lot.” What do you hope to pursue in the future? “I hope to become a Pastor. I am currently pursuing my Masters of Divinity. I would also like to become active in politics.” |
