Populations served:
Survivors of rape / sexual assault, childhood incest, domestic violence and sexual harassment within the Harlem community including:
- adults 18+.
- males.
- females.
Fees for services:
Services are free as CVB reimbursement is utilized.
Medical Services
- 24-hour 7 day a week rape crisis counselors in the Emergency Department.
- Medical / forensic examination* including HIV prophylaxis and pregnancy prevention.
- Psychiatric evaluations through Psychiatry Department*.
Advocacy:
- Criminal justice advocacy.
- Accompaniment to ACS and family court.
Counseling:
- Short-term individual and family therapy.
- Short-term group counseling for survivors of rape / sexual assault, domestic violence, and adults sexually abused as children as scheduled.
- Telephone counseling.
Other Services:
- Information and referral services to all populations.
- Child therapy through the Dept. of Child Psychiatry.
- Adolescent counseling through the Adolescent Health Clinic.
Educational / Training Services
- Community education.
- Professional trainings.
Volunteer Opportunities:
- Patient support and advocacy.
- General office opportunities.
