Populations served:

Survivors of rape / sexual assault, childhood incest, domestic violence and sexual harassment within the Harlem community including:
  • adults 18+.
  • males.
  • females.

Fees for services:

Services are free as CVB reimbursement is utilized.

Medical Services

  • 24-hour 7 day a week rape crisis counselors in the Emergency Department.
  • Medical / forensic examination* including HIV prophylaxis and pregnancy prevention.
  • Psychiatric evaluations through Psychiatry Department*.

Advocacy:

  • Criminal justice advocacy.
  • Accompaniment to ACS and family court.

Counseling:

  • Short-term individual and family therapy.
  • Short-term group counseling for survivors of rape / sexual assault, domestic violence, and adults sexually abused as children as scheduled.
  • Telephone counseling.

Other Services:

  • Information and referral services to all populations.
  • Child therapy through the Dept. of Child Psychiatry.
  • Adolescent counseling through the Adolescent Health Clinic.

Educational / Training Services

  • Community education.
  • Professional trainings.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Patient support and advocacy.
  • General office opportunities.
