The Torch
Took over Union Square May 18, 2008

Survivors, friends, family and others came together to celebrate healing and recovery from sexual violence. The festival featured music, performances, dancers, spoken word, inspirational speakers, and more. Populations served:

All Youths in need of hiv/aids care or testing including:

  • Ages 13-24 for HIV positive health care and 13-21 for Counseling and Testing
  • Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning kids
  • Their families and caregivers.
  • Undocumented Immigrants

Fees for services:

Low Cost or free for STD and HIV testing, insurance assistance available.

Medical Services:

  • HIV STD couseling and testing
  • Inpatient hospital care
  • HIV care and medicines, Comprehensive follow-up care
  • Primary and mental health care

Advocacy:

Social Worker available on site for referrals

Counseling:

  • Individual and group counseling sessions in house
  • Crisis assistance.
  • Weekly Support Groups

Other Services:

  • Recreational Events during school closing dates
  • Mobile Testing and off site testing

Educational / Training Services:

  • outreach and educational programs
