August 1, 2005: [1] Quarterly Meeting Review
The June quarterly meeting began with reports from individuals, borough task forces and citywide committees, highlighting current issues. One issue participants were particularly concerned about was maintaining a focus on the continuum of care for the sexual assault survivor. Current funding streams focus on acute care, and limit the intermediate and long-term services included in the comprehensive treatment model. Most advocates support a holistic model which responds to the survivor’s long- and short-term, psychological, emotional and medical treatment needs. [[2] more]

What are the guiding principles of our work? Some of us approach the problem of sexual assault from a feminist framework, and identify patriarchy as the root of the problem of sexual assault. Others think feminism does not fully answer the problem, especially with regard to male victims. What does this means for service delivery, prevention and organizing our movement? [[6] more]

The Alliance's quarterly leadership meetings are an opportunity for our community to discuss emerging issues and trends, and address ongoing challenges to building a successful movement to end sexual assault. [[8] more]

The Alliance’s April and June quarterly meetings were particularly productive and stimulating. At the meetings, we focused on understanding and building coalition, and making the most of our partnerships. [[10] more]

The June 2003 Alliance Quarterly Meeting was packed with information for the attendees. It began with Alliance Executive Director Harriet Lessel announcing new legislation had been passed by the state legislature in an effort that cleaned up outstanding issues in the Sexual Assault Reform Act of 2000. April 15, 2002: [15] Quarterly Meeting Review : [16] Planning Next Steps with Adolescent Issues
The Alliance Quarterly meeting held in January was convened as a follow-up to the last Directors Forum in which adolescents were identified as a major focus for collaborative efforts. In addition, a check-in in reference to the World Trade Center disaster was also included because it was felt that it was a necessity for programs that serve trauma survivors in New York City.
