ESSENCE Communications, Inc. presented the Alliance with a donation on behalf of their Angel Award winner, Annette Simmons. The Angel Award is given to employees who consistently give of their time and energy to the community. Ms. Simmons chose the Alliance as the recipient of the gift.
The NY City Council increased its funding for the Alliance, with $10K from Council Member Chris Quinn, $3K from the Manhattan delegation, and $175K from Speaker Gifford Miller on behalf of the entire Council. The Alliance applauds the Council for its ever-increasing support to end sexual violence.
