Harlem Legal Services & The Upper Manhattan Domestic Violence Services Collaborative offer training on "Human Trafficking: What Service Providers Need To Know" on March 7, 2005.
This training is designed to foster an increased understanding among lawyers, social workers, law enforcement agencies and other service providers working with New York City immigrant communities about trafficking in persons. This training will cover the legal and social dimensions of human trafficking in New York City.
TOPICS COVERED INCLUDE:
· Introduction to the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000
· Legal aspects of “severe forms of trafficking in persons”
· How to identify trafficking victims in your community
· The dimensions of trafficking in New York City
· How service providers can help victims of trafficking
· Accessing services & resources
