Are children and teenagers also victims of sexual assault? |
Newsletter: Winter 2005: News from NYPD Special VictimsThe community recently gave a fond farewell to Susan Morley, former Deputy Inspector of the Special Victims Division of the NYPD. Susan was appointed as the first DI of a newly formed division whose role was to centralize accountability and reporting for all the sex crimes squads in four boroughs. Susan exemplified leadership and commitment in this area and will be sorely missed. Best wishes to her in her retirement! Another goodbye and thanks to Sgt. Margaret Martinez, former Commanding Officer of the Detective Bureau's Special Victims Unit. Margaret made sure that she and the other officers were always available to city and borough-wide groups to ensure positive collaboration between NYPD and service providers. We wish her the best in her new position. The Alliance has extended a special welcome to the new Deputy Inspector, Annmarie Connell, and the new Commanding Officer, Sergeant Cynthia Sheppy. The Alliance and local programs look forward to working with them both. ← previous article | next article → |
