The "graying of America" has given senior citizens a large and powerful political voice. As a result, crimes against the elderly, particularly those involving abuse or neglect, are coming to the attention of the general public and our nation's elected policy makers.

Newsletter: October 2003: Alliance NewsShireen Barday joins the Alliance Board of Directors. The Alliance’s staff joins the Board of Directors in welcoming its newest board member, Shireen Barday. Ms. Barday is Deputy Director of Program Development for the New York City Council. Alliance staff welcomes Priscilla Brantley. Priscilla joined the Alliance as Administrative Coordinator in September 2003. We are happy to have her aboard. Priscilla can be reached at 212.523.4344 or pbrantley@nycagainstrape.org. The Alliance welcomes Faith Huckel and Debi Fry, who will be interning at the Alliance this year. Ms. Huckel is a Columbia University School of Social Work student. She is working towards her MSSW, which she expects to receive in June 2003, and is the Alliance’s Social Work Policy Intern.
