Newsletter: October 2003: Forensic Healthcare Program Expands Online Resources

By Suzanne Towns, CSW

As NYC hospitals develop their acute sexual assault treatment services, the FHP recognizes a citywide need for increased services, and additional information.  The FHP’s greatly expanded section of the Alliance's website reflects these needs.  A full description of the FHP's ongoing projects, committees and services, original publications, and other resources can now be found online.

Visitors can view descriptions and download registration materials for upcoming healthcare and criminal justice trainings.  These include the five-day core Sexual Assault Examiner training and our innovative Advanced Leadership Seminars.  Visitors can also browse through training archives from past events, and stay current with future training opportunities by subscribing to the FHP’s e-mail list.

The site is also a resource for those wishing to participate in collaborative efforts to improve forensic healthcare for sexual assault.  Now, information about citywide projects, committees, and borough specific task forces can be found in one place.

Please visit the site at http://www.nycagainstrape.org/fhp.html.  As always, the FHP welcomes any additional resources or comments.  Email suggestions to fhp@nycagainstrape.org or call 212 523-4344.
