Affirming Our Commitment to Fair Information Practices
This July, the Alliance became a licensee of the TRUSTe Privacy Program, an independent non-profit organization promoting fair information practices. With TRUSTe, the Alliance created a statement that demonstrates our firm commitment to privacy by informing site visitors of our data collection and storage practices, and guidelines for use of visitor data. Richard Glover Joins Alliance Board of Directors
The Alliance extends its warmest welcome to our newest board member, Richard Glover. Richard brings to the Alliance the experience gained in extensive leadership in school safety for New York City. He is currently Chief Executive Officer of School Safety Professionals, L.L.C., a consulting firm incorporated to help individual schools and school systems establish and maintain a safe and secure teaching and learning environment. He is also president of The Creative Source, a consulting firm whose main area of expertise is program evaluation, planning, implementation, and management. Richard is currently an adjunct professor at both Columbia University School of Social Work and John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

Alliance's library opens
The Alliance is thrilled to open our newly established library to the public. The library is a growing collection of over 500 titles focusing on sexual assault and abuse, including books, periodicals, videotapes, curriculums, training manuals, handbooks, workbooks, resource books and guides. It also includes fact sheets, pamphlets, brochures and conference and report materials. All materials can be viewed once a week, when the librarian is present. Videos are available for loan. The library catalog, which is searchable by subject matter, title and author is available online at www.nycagainstrape.org/ research_library.html. Through affiliation with other libraries, the quality of services and materials available to the general public, survivors, educators and treatment providers will continue to grow. For information on materials and operating hours, email: librarian@nycagainstrape.org.

Rave Reviews for the Rape Crisis Training Institute
The Training Institute's second year was a success, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from the 92 participants who attended the Alliance's five workshops. The Institute, a joint venture of the Alliance and the New York State Coalition Against Sexual Assault, held a total of eight trainings throughout NY for the State's Department of Health-funded rape crisis programs.
