NYC 'Day of Silence' Vigil in honor of Lawrence King

Description: Lawrence King, 15, was murdered last month in California in his middle school by a classmate, the tragic culmination of harassment he had been enduring based on his sexual orientation and gender expression.
Purpose of Vigil: To honor the life of Lawrence King and all Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender youth victims and survivors of violence; To come together as LGBT/allied youth, providers & others in inspiring action to CREATE CHANGE by raising awareness and fostering acceptance, understanding & inclusion in our schools, families, foster care facilities, public spaces, and other places that should be safe and welcoming for all youth.
FRIDAY, APRIL 25 - 6PM TO 8PM CHRISTOPHER STREET PARK
Directions: A,C,E,F,V to W.4th Street; 1 to Christopher Street
Glow-sticks will be distributed for the vigil, or bring your own
