VLove: VLove

 Organization: VLove

Description:
VLove: E-vulva-lution is coming!

VLove is an avant-garde, multi-media theatre piece exploring what it means to be a woman and in particular, what it means to have a vagina. Unlike other vagina plays, Vlove speaks directly from the experiences of its cast members. The show is a completely original devised theatre piece.

Since we're not like anything you've ever seen, we're doing things a bit differently. A portion of all proceeds goes to SAYSO! -- Sexual Assault Yearly Speak Out, which is an amazing ten hour outdoor event held annually in Union Square. Visit http://www.nycagainstrape.org for details.

The show opens this Saturday at 8:00 at Bowery Poetry Club. Tickets are $12 at the door. We're hoping to really pack the house and build momentum for the rest of our Vlove run, so if you can, we'd love to see you Sat!

After that, we begin our tour of the city in bars and other venues.

On the 12tg we're at Stonewall Inn in the West Village
On the 14th we're at BAAD in the Bronx for the BAAD ass woman's festival. Show starts at 7:00.
On the 18th we go back to our home at *snapshot* at Bar 13 in Union Square.
On the 21st we're at The Producer's Club on 44th and 9th, show starts at 10:00 with after party to follow.

...and we're adding dates all the time. You can check out e-vulving show dates at www.myspace.com/vlovenyc

That'll let you know exact show dates and times, as well as ticket prices.

Voices and Faces:
Holly Hughes
Holly Hughes, Producer
"On TV, the only time they called it rape was when it was a stranger. So I didn't think what happened to me was rape. If I did, maybe I would have told someone. Maybe I would not have lost so many years of my life."
