The second stripper at a Duke University lacrosse party where one stripper says she was raped last March has contradicted two elements of the accuserís account, CBS News reported yesterday.
The second stripper, Kim Roberts, 32, of Durham, N.C., told ì60 Minutesî that she and the accuser had not ìtried to hold on to each otherî before they were separated at the bedroom door at the party in March and that she had not later helped someone dress the first stripper, a news release from CBS said.
Ms. Roberts has previously told reporters and the police that she was separated from the accuser for a time at the party and that she did not witness any rape.
Asked whether Ms. Roberts had denied that a rape occurred, a spokesman for '60 Minutes,' Kevin Tedesco, said, ìThatís not what the press release says.î
There will be little more from the second dancer in the program, to be broadcast tomorrow at 7 p.m., Mr. Tedesco said.
The program includes the first public interviews with all three lacrosse players accused in the case. They strongly deny guilt and talk about how the case has affected them.
ìThis woman has destroyed everything I worked for in my life,î David Evans, a team captain, told '60 Minutes.'
Ms. Robertsís lawyer did not return calls. The accuser, a 28-year-old mother and student at North Carolina Central University, has not spoken publicly since March but has told the police that she wants the case to go to trial.
Ms. Roberts has given different accounts in the past, including calling the rape accusation a 'crock' and saying she was with the accuser for all but less than five minutes.
