A man accused of kidnapping two children from their home and killing their family pleaded guilty to murder and kidnapping. The man, Joseph E. Duncan III, 43, had been accused of bludgeoning two adults and a teenager to death at the home near Coeur díAlene so he could kidnap the family's two youngest children for sex. One child, Dylan Groene, 9, was later found dead, and his sister, Shasta, 8, was rescued seven weeks later. Under his plea agreement, he is to be sentenced to three consecutive life terms without parole in Idaho, but federal prosecution could result in the death penalty.
