Dear Editor (New York Post)
What news does your story "Lesbian gang-stab shocker" of 4 October 2006 shares with the reader?
In her article, Laura Italiano sensationalizes the events of the 19 August alleged assault, at the expense of sharing any real news with your readership.
What were the "startling police statements released yesterday?" What do representatives for the accused and the prosecution say? Has the trial begun? How long is it expected to last? What arguments do the defense and prosecution intend to bring before the court?
Your article refers to the "lesbian gang" as "bloodthirsty." It calls them the "Sapphic seven." Aside from sensationalizing the story and showing your obvious editorial bias, comments like this contribute nothing to describing the facts of the case at hand.
Sincerely,
Amanda Atwood
